6400.68(b) | On 2/18/15, at 3:50 PM, the hot water temperature at the shower in the bathroom located off the main floor hallway was 123.4 degrees Fahrenheit. | Hot water temperatures in bathtubs and showers may not exceed 120°F. | At Community Homes, hot water control valve setting will be monitored and adjusted as necessary in order for temperatures not to exceed 120 degrees. Staff will be retrained no later than 04/30/15 on temperature check procedure, regulations and explanation. Compliance with 68(b) requirement is determined using a thermometer. Staff let the hot water from tub or shower run into a ceramic cup or glass about 15-30 seconds before testing, and measure the temperature while water is still flowing into the glass. A range of 2°F is allowed in the event the recording is inaccurate. If water temperature falls outside the range, staff will wait five minutes and repeat the temperature check. If water temperature falls outside of range on second attempt, staff will adjust water temperature valve. Water is tested nightly by 11 pm to 7am staff. |
