The Regional Director has taken action by contacting maintenance to request they fix or replace loose floor boards on the porch. The Regional Director will make weekly safety visits to the residence in order to make sure the floorboards are in compliance and stay in compliance throughout the time the residence is used. If the floorboards become `loose¿ or become a safety hazard for the residents, the Regional Director will immediately call the appropriate party to have them fixed. 6400.73(a)There are eight steps leading up from the basement to the bilco doors and there is no handrail. Each ramp, and interior stairway and outside steps exceeding two steps shall have a well-secured handrail. The Regional Director has taken action by contacting maintenance to request they put a handrail in place leading to the bilco doors. The Regional Director will make weekly safety visits to the residence in order to make sure the handrails are in compliance and stay in compliance throughout the time the residence is used. If the handrails become `loose¿ or become a safety hazard for the residents, the Regional Director will immediately call the appropriate party to have the handrail fixed. At some points the porch is approximately 2.5 to 3 feet off the ground and there is no railing.Each porch that has over an 18-inch drop shall have a well-secured railing.Maintenance has contacted the landlord to complete the repairs. The Residential Supervisor will continue to make regular visits to the residence in order to ensure physical plant complies with licensing standards. The Senior house staff will continue to complete daily safety checks in the home and will notify the Regional Director or Residential Supervisor if there are any maintenance concerns. If there is a maintenance issue the staff will submit maintenance requests in our electronic database. A home that is not connected to a public water system shall have a coliform water test by a Department of Environmental Resources¿ certified laboratory stating that the water is safe for drinking purposes at least every 3 months. Written certification of the water test shall be kept.The Deputy CEO will be vigilant in ensuring quarterly water testing is completed within 90 days as scheduled. The water testing company was immediately notified during licensing to schedule a water test for this location.
