6500.101On 1/7/2026 at 9:37am, the side-hinged man-door in the garage was observed fully obstructed by various household items including, but not limited to, 3 black plastic milk crates, knee-high work boots, denim clothes, an HP DeskJet Printer box, area rugs, a black plastic boot tray, knitted blankets, and cardboard shoes boxes. The obstruction had the potential to create a blocked egress and potential choke point during an emergency evacuation.Stairways, halls, doorways and exits from rooms and from the home shall be unobstructed.All stairways, halls, doorways, and exits from rooms and the home must remain unobstructed to ensure life safety and rapid evacuation during emergencies. Blocked exits create dangerous bottlenecks, slow escape, trap people, and prevent emergency responders from entering. The side-hinged man-door in the garage was observed to be fully obstructed by various household items. These items had been moved to allow vehicle entrance for the winter months, which inadvertently blocked the door. The obstruction was immediately corrected, and the door is now clear.
