| 6500.32(r) | The bedroom identified to be used for an incoming individual has a door lock which is a "privacy lock". This type of lock can be opened with a tool or device that is not specific to the door or lock, such as, a screwdriver or coin. These types of locks do not provide the level of privacy and security of person and possessions expected by this regulation. | An individual has the right to lock the individual's bedroom door. | On August 24, 2026, the privacy lock on the bedroom identified for the incoming individual was removed and replaced with a lock that provides the level of privacy and security required by 55 Pa. Code §6500.32(r). The replacement lock allows the individual to lock the bedroom door and secure personal belongings and cannot be opened with a common tool such as a coin or screwdriver. Attached is a photo confirming the installation of the appropriate lock. Upon moving into the home, the individual will be provided with a copy of the key to her bedroom and the Life Sharing host will keep a spare key that is stored in a secured area. |
