The sign read "House Rules for Health Management and Independent Living Plans. The kitchen will be open at designated times, and staff will accompany the resident in the kitchen at all times. Menus will be planned in accordance with the individual's medical needs, as directed by a physician. The resident will not ask for others to share their food with them, at home, or in the community. Staff cannot share their food with the resident. Food cannot be delivered to the home. Cash and debit cards are secured in the home, and staff will provide them to the resident for necessary items or planned community outings, and the resident is responsible for returning receipts. If money will be used for food in the community, calorie counts will be planned beforehand with assistance from staff. Personal care items will be distributed by staff daily as needed. Quiet hours are observed in the residence from 11pm to 7am in order to encourage good sleeping patterns and promote everyday wellness.
