| 6400.101 | On 12/17/2025, at 10:58 AM, the interior door leading from the basement to the attached garage was equipped with a deadbolt lock requiring a key to disengage it from the garage side. The garage does not have an exterior swing door; therefore, the deadbolt with key lock is creating a potential entrapment area or blocked egress. | Stairways, halls, doorways, passageways and exits from rooms and from the building shall be unobstructed.
| On 12/17/2025, the maintenance team immediately switched the knob so that there is no lock on the door from inside the home to the garage.
The door now provides unobstructed egress in the event of an emergency. |
