6400.62(a)During the inspection conducted 9/27/2023 at 12:53PM, a container of Cascade Complete dishwasher pods was in the unlocked cabinet under the kitchen sink. At 1:01PM, eight containers of Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, a container of Cascade Complete dishwasher pods and Lysol aerosol spray can was on a shelf in the unlocked garage. At 1:07PM, a Lysol aerosol spray can was on the counter in the bathroom. Individual #1's Individual Service Plan, last updated 9/20/2023, states "all poisons are to be kept locked. [Individual #1] does not have access to them. He cannot use them independently."Poisonous materials shall be kept locked or made inaccessible to individuals. Individual # 1 had just moved from a different provider and many transition meetings were held where this was discussed. Individual #1 was able to safely avoid poisons per his family and SC on meetings held 6/14, 7/12, 8/23 and 9/6/23. The ISP is updated to reflect that individual # 1 is able to safely avoid poisons. This was also discussed at a 30 day meeting held 10/19/23. Individual #1 is safely able to avoid poisons. However, going forward the ISP will be checked upon admission by the Director of IDD Services and communicated to the SC via email documentation. 10/20/2023 Implemented
6400.101During the inspection conducted 9/27/2023 there was a turn lock on the door, inside of the basement leading to the garage, and no exit out of the garage posing a potential entrapment risk.Stairways, halls, doorways, passageways and exits from rooms and from the building shall be unobstructed. 6400.101 No swing doors , or door with Chain locks/hotel type locks, etc. The garage is not considered an exit, as in the event of a fire, the power would be inoperable, therefore garage doors would not be able to open via an individual with IDD. Regulation 6400.101 was fixed upon Inspection completion on 9/28/23 by the Emmaus Facilities Manager. This regulation was discussed at a Management training, via the CEO, that was on 10/3/23, where the Facilities Manager and the Director of IDD Services participated in. 10/20/2023 Implemented
