6400.65 | On 1/29/2025 at 1:30PM, there was no mechanical ventilation fan or window in the bathroom in the basement of the home. | Living areas, recreation areas, dining areas, individual bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms shall be ventilated by at least one operable window or by mechanical ventilation.
| Mechanical Ventilation was installed and completed in working order on 2/12/2025. The following actions were taken: On 1/29/2025 [DIrector of Residential Services #1] emailed the landlord for Crestview regarding the violation and the need for mechanical ventilation to be installed in the basement bathroom.
On 1/31/2025, the landlord had hired a team to start the process of adding the ventilation.
On 2/10/2025, the vent was installed but needed a coat of paint to correct the ceiling afterwards as requested by [DIrector of Residential Services #1] On 2/12/2025, paint was applied, and the process was completed.
On 2/13/2025, [DIrector of Residential Services #1] went to the site to ensure the vent was placed, the paint was touched up, and that it was fully functioning. With one switch, the light and mechanical ventilation can be turned on and off.
Pictures of the completed process will be sent to the licensing inspectors for review. |

6400.101 | On 1/29/2025 at 1:32PM, there was a thumbnail locking mechanism on the basement side of the door between the basement and the garage of the home posing an obstructed egress from the garage. There is not a swing door in the garage. | Stairways, halls, doorways, passageways and exits from rooms and from the building shall be unobstructed.
| On 2/10/2025 as instructed by the licensing inspector, [DIrector of Residential Services #1] flipped the doorknob on the swing door from the basement leading to the garage. The thumbnail locking mechanism was originally located on the side accessible from the basement, the locking mechanism is now on the side of the door accessible from within the garage. If a person were to be in the garage, they would not need to rely on a key to enter the basement, therefore they cannot be locked in the garage. The doorknob no longer poses as an obstructed egress since a person could not be locked inside of the garage and can enter the basement with ease. |
