Staff had not indicated on the record why it had not been taken. While in the home individual #1 stated that they did not want to take the medication. Staff also noted that the individual was refusing.If an individual refuses routine medical or dental examination or treatment, the refusal and continued attempts to train the individual about the need for health care shall be documented in the individual's record. The staff began to document all individual #1¿s medication refusal on the medication administration record beginning 8/1/2024. However, upon inspection it was noted that sugars had risen to high levels, 294 without intervention. Individual #1 who is a type 2 diabetic has food in the home that is high in sugar and has not received nutritional education on better choices by a professional.Health services, such as medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, dental, dietary and psychological services that are planned or prescribed for the individual shall be arranged for or provided. Individual #1 went for consultation to the doctor on 8/5/2024 and there is a diabetic sugar protocol in place for staff to follow moving forward.
