| 6400.73(a) | On 5/1/2026 at 11:11 AM, the four steps leading from the front walkway to the front porch were observed without a secure handrail. On 5/1/2026 at 11:30 AM, the three steps at the top of the main staircase, leading from the landing to the second-floor hallway, were observed without a secure handrail. On 5/1/2026 at 11:34 AM, the three steps at the top of the basement staircase, leading from the landing to the main-floor hallway, were observed without a secure handrail. | Each ramp, and interior stairway and outside steps exceeding two steps shall have a well-secured handrail. | On 5/1/2026, the identified areas were reviewed and arrangements were made to install secure handrails on the front exterior steps, the upper interior staircase, and the basement staircase in accordance with 55 Pa. Code Chapter 6400.73 requirements. Staff were notified of the safety concern and temporary safety monitoring was implemented until installation completed. Interior railings have been completed. Agency is awaiting order for exterior railing to arrive for installation. |
