6400.101The door between the basement and the garage had a locking mechanism that could prevent egress from the garage. There is no man-door in the garage. Stairways, halls, doorways, passageways and exits from rooms and from the building shall be unobstructed. The lock for this door has been replaced with a pop-lock and all staff at the site have been retrained in immediately consulting the maintnenance department (Rick Petro - supervisor) and Residential Director (Michelle Weidner) in reporting any potential hazards in the home. It should also be noted that, in addition to the exit that was cited, there are three other fire exits in the home...including one in close proximity to the cited exit. 05/08/2014 Implemented
